Antico Forno Roscioli
Review for this restaurant
Before the Restaurant, the Salumeria, the Caffè Pasticceria, the Rimessa and the Wine Club turned the family business into a food juggernaut in Rome, there was the Antico Forno Roscioli, which for the last two centuries has filled Via dei Chiavari with the scent of freshly baked bread and pizza. This is still one of the best places for traditional Roman pizza baked in teglia (“in a pan”) – either red (with tomato sauce) or white (plain) – but everything else is also topnotch: many styles of breads, crunchy supplì, cakes, and the grandi lievitati – panettone around Christmas and colomba for Easter.
