All'Antico Vinaio
Review for this restaurant
Despite what the name seems to suggest, “The Ancient Vintner” is just a little over 30 years old. But it was when Tommaso Mazzanti joined the family business, in 2006, that it was propelled to global fame. What used to be a tiny hole in the wall serving Tuscan-style schiacciata – a crunchy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside focaccia filled to the brim with salumi, cheese, spreads and vegetables – now counts multiple international locations. It’s impossible to go wrong with the classics, such as sbriciolona salami, homemade pecorino cheese spread, artichokes and spicy eggplants or roast suckling pig, cream of onion and roasted potato.
